About Gibney:

Over the course of almost 30 years, Gibney has evolved from a socially active dancecompany with a single dance studio to a two-location performing arts and social justice powerhouse. Gibney’s mission is to tap into the vast potential of movement, creativity, and performance to effect social change and personal transformation. The mission comes to life through impactful Community Action initiatives, two thriving performing arts centers, and a stunning social justice dance company.

About Gibney Company:

With an uncompromising focus on artistic excellence and social integrity, Gibney Company activates its dancers toward their full artistic, entrepreneurial, and socially-minded selves through rigorous physical, intellectual, and interpersonal practices. Gibney Company’s vision is to not only cultivate the next leaders of the field, but to also provide a concrete example of the wide-reaching relevancy of artists in our society.

About Moving Toward Justice Fellowships:

Artistic Associates engage the community through individually-crafted advocacy fellowships. Each Artistic Associate pinpoints a pressing social issue or identifies a social inequity within or outside of the dance field then leverages the resources and mentoring of the larger organization to develop, implement, and co-create new programs in response to the evolving needs of the field and wider community.
